Celebration in recognition of Hamlin Garland, one of Wisconsin's foremost authors, who was born in West Salem, Wisconsin. Hamlin was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in 1921.
Featured activities include: Village wide Rummage Sale (Fri & Sat).
Saturday: Silent Auction begins, Pioneer Stew & Pie (11am-2pm; $6), music by Karen & Kelly Bleich(Sat & Sun), Cemetery Walk at the Hamilton Cemetery featuring West Salem's Civil War Heroes (1:30-3:30pm, $5); Coulee Region Christian School Open House in honor of 100th anniversary of that building (3-5pm); candlelight memorial to honor Hamlin Garland at the Neshonoc Cemetery where he is buried at 8pm.
Sunday: Gathering of the Antique Cars Show (11am-2pm) lunch will be available on the grounds, Kelly Kreig-Sigman at 2pm with her dark stories of La Crosse, followed by birthday cake and ice cream.
