Area chefs and wanna-be hot shots create and name delectable concoctions of chili for the annual Heat is On! Chili Cook-Off. This is an annual contest that awards prizes and bragging rights in categories that include best chili, best theme (costume) and People's Choice. Adult admission is $17; kids age 10 and younger eat free when accompanied by a paying adult. Grand Prize winner receives a large, fabulous trophy / coffee table pottery bowl made especially for the Chili Cook-0ff by Matthias James, well known regional potter.
