Garfield Avenue - Eau Claire, WI 54702
UW-Eau Claire’s event is the largest Viennese ball outside of Vienna itself and is in its 48th year as a music department fundraiser. When we say it’s one of the largest, we mean it: The Viennese Ball will take over all three floors of the Davies Center, and hosts a multitude of venues with a variety of performances, food, and drink. From traditional ballroom waltzing, a cappella, big band jazz, piano bars, faculty performances, and a bunch more. The ball is jam-packed with entertainment, food, spirits, and surprises. The Viennese Ball is a formal event recalling the romance and elegance of 19th-century Vienna, Austria.
Modeled on the historic New Year’s Eve Kaiser Ball, the event transforms all three levels of Davies Center. Guests may waltz in the grand ballroom, swing dance to Big Band standards, polka in the informal festival hall, sing along in the piano bar, and hear showcase performances on the Bo¨sendorfer Imperial Grand Piano. Available throughout Davies Center all through the evening are authentic Austrian specialties, soups, cheeses, sandwiches and brats, tortes and cheesecakes, sparkling wine, Austrian beers, and American-style bar service
