Big Bay State Park offers natural beauty along four miles of Lake Superior shoreline, located on the eastern side of Madeline Island—the largest of the 22 Apostle Islands. Visitors can explore rugged sandstone cliffs, a mile-long accessible boardwalk, sandy beaches, scenic hiking trails, and a State Natural Area featuring bogs, barrier beaches, boreal forest, and old-growth hemlock. The park also offers a family campground, group camps, and adaptive equipment, including a beach wheelchair. A short ferry ride from Bayfield brings you to this unforgettable lakeside escape.
