Whitetail Ridge Ski Area
Whitetail Ridge is a ski resort located near scenic Fort McCoy. It is open to the public and aims to provide an unforgettable winter sports experience.
Downhill skiing or snowboarding enthusiasts will find the challenge of Whitetail Ridge appealing. The slopes are supported by the National Ski Patrol, and skiers of all ages and experience levels will find something to enjoy. The longest run at the resort is 1,300 feet with a vertical drop of over 185 feet. The terrain park is perfect for snowboarders looking for some thrills.
Visitors who do not enjoy skiing or snowboarding need not worry. The snow tubing area at Whitetail Ridge features five runs, including an 800-foot slope that's sure to get your heart pumping. Moreover, the Magic Carpet lift takes visitors back up the hill, making the ride down enjoyable without the climb back up.
For those who prefer a more leisurely pace, the resort offers over five miles of scenic country trails for cross-country skiing. Visitors can keep an eye out for the abundant wildlife that often makes appearances along the way. Trail use is free, and equipment rental is available.
After a long day on the slopes, visitors can head inside to the Chalet & Ten Point Pub to warm up, relax, and enjoy some delicious food and drinks. The cozy atmosphere is the perfect place to unwind and reflect on the day's adventures.
