Ellsworth Cheese Curd Festival – Ellsworth
Cheese is arguably what Wisconsin is most famous for, so if you only make it to one festival this summer, make it a cheese curd festival! Whether you like your curds squeaky fresh or battered and deep fried, you will find them at the Ellsworth Cheese Curd Festival. The event to look out for at the festival is the cheese curd eating competition. Enter the field or simply enjoy as a spectator—either way is fun for all. Also don’t miss the parade, pie competition and the fun run.
Cedarburg Strawberry Festival – Cedarburg
Enjoy everything strawberry in Cedarburg’s historic downtown. This family-oriented festival also corresponds with the annual Plein Air Painting Event. Check out live music, shopping, contests, and children’s activities during this two-day festival. Keep an eye out for the “Original” strawberry brat made specifically for the festival!
Fish Day in Port Washington is one not to miss. This festival has everything you can think of from fireworks to live music to a car show. Here you can eat fried fish by the plate full. Their goal is to always keep the event affordable enough for you to be able to bring the whole family! Where does your money go from Fish Days?—to the nine local, civic, fraternal, veteran, and service organizations that will be operating the fish stands!
Home of the “Ripon Good Cookies,” this one day event caters to cookie lovers. From cookie decorating to cookie bingo this festival has it all, including a cookie tasting competition—what’s not to love about that!? While you’re celebrating all things cookie, be sure to check out Ripon’s downtown, a unique little area full of vibrant shops and restaurants.
River Falls Bacon Bash – River Falls
This two-day festival invites you to taste all things bacon, from ice cream to other bacon-wrapped goodies. Here you will find all day pig-themed activities for you and the family to enjoy. This festival allows you to enjoy tasting and invites you to participate in the Amateur Bacon Cook-off. This newly-created festival is a real crowd pleaser and one to enjoy for years to come!
