The Milton College Preservation Society owns and operates Main Hall as a museum of Milton College history. Built in the mid-1800s, Milton College was the first co-ed liberal arts college in Wisconsin Although the college closed in 1982, the buildings remain for tours. Exhibit renovation and expansion is underway, including a panoramic timeline that begins with Milton Academy’s abolitionist origins in the 1840s and continues to show Milton College in the context of national and world events. Visitors will also learn about the academic, music and athletic history of the college.
