Signature Events
What makes a Wisconsin event signature? Perhaps it’s the food, the entertainment, the people or all of the above.
Our signature events, all annual, let us put our best foot forward and create unforgettable memories for families and friends year after year. Visit us for a signature event and stay for some of our smaller celebrations. With so many reasons to celebrate here, you and your family will want to keep coming back every year.
Big Fun at Major Annual Events
Hear top-tier concerts, see high-flying acrobatics and savor the best fried fair food around at our signature events held every summer.
For more than a century, the Wisconsin State Fair has provided family fun and an exciting look at our state history and agriculture. The fair, held for 11 days between July and August, is hosted at the fairgrounds in West Allis. While there, choose from the dozens of amusement rides, including the WonderFair Wheel, agriculture exhibits and over 100 food vendors, serving everything from cheese curds to fried anything on a stick and famous cream puffs.
Sing and dance like nobody's watching, probably because everyone else is too, at Summerfest in Milwaukee. Summerfest draws music lovers from across the country to the shores of Lake Michigan for nine days of live concerts featuring hundreds of acts from all different genres across 11 stages. Each year, the lineup features some of the biggest, hottest names in music. Past headliners have included Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Paul McCartney, REO Speedwagon and Luke Bryan.
Spread your wings and soar into Oshkosh for the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) AirVenture. Hundreds of thousands of aviation lovers and families flock to Oshkosh every July for the week-long fly-in convention featuring daily air shows, aircraft exhibits and so much more.
Smaller Celebrations Show Heart of Wisconsin
Our signature events attract big crowds and lots of energy and so do our smaller celebrations.
Every August, a handful of hot air balloons light up the night sky during the Lakeshore Balloon Glow in Manitowoc. The annual event also features food trucks, fireworks and other family-friendly events.
Our county fairs statewide, including the ones at Calumet and Walworth, showcase the best of what our smaller towns and communities have to offer.
And if a day at the rodeo sounds like a good time, slip into your cowboy boots and steer your way to the Great Northern Classic Rodeo held in Superior every summer. Sit on the sidelines and watch in awe as the pros compete in events like saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, calf roping, bareback riding, cowgirl’s barrel racing and bull riding.
Whether it’s a signature event or a small-town celebration, our annual events will bring you, your family and friends back year after year for moments worth remembering.
