Wild Rose Fish Hatchery Education Center
Wild Rose Fish Hatchery has a new State-of-the-art hatchery that produces 27 percent of all trout and salmon stocked statewide, 64 percent of northern pike, 100 percent of lake sturgeon, and a significant share of spotted musky. The new Education Center showcases the history of Wisconsin State Fish Hatcheries, has a model fish hatchery lab with hands on activity stations, a spin browser kiosk that takes visitors behind the scenes into fish hatchery production, two 300-gallon aquariums, a record wall of fish for 26 Wisconsin fish species, Lake Michigan exhibit, model fishing pond to identify and match your catch, Alien Invaders – aquatic invasive species exhibits, and a new lake sturgeon exhibit under construction.
Guided tours begin at 10am & 1pm during open hours. To schedule Group Tours of 10 or more, call 2 weeks in advance. We invite you to enjoy a picnic on hatchery grounds, but please plan to take out what you bring in. No vehicles or visitors allowed in winter.
