Chalet Cheese Coop
Chalet Cheese Coop
Established in 1885 by five dairy farmers, Chalet Cheese Cooperative is one of the oldest cheese cooperatives in the United States and continues to thrive. The cheese making facility is owned by dairy farm members who supply milk to the facility. All are located in Green County near the factory and provide fresh milk daily for cheese production.
Chalet Cheese is renowned for its unique flavored cheeses, artisanal approach, extensive cheesemaking knowledge, and Swiss cheesemaking heritage. The cooperative specializes in producing Baby Swiss, Limburger, Wisconsin Brick, Swiss, and smoked versions of these cheeses. It proudly holds the distinction of being the sole producer of Limburger in the United States. Additionally, the Alpenaro, a gouda-parmesan blend, showcases the cooperative's innovation, and efforts are ongoing to develop new cheese varieties for you to savor.
The exceptional quality of the cheese has earned Chalet Cheese over one hundred awards in competitions at regional, state, national, and international levels. Everyone is invited to savor the delicious cheese produced by Chalet Cheese Cooperative.
