Siskiwit Falls
Siskiwit Falls has been a favorite place to visit for generations. Bayfield County recently purchased about 100 acres of land on the north side of the bridge (Siskiwit Falls Road), thus securing a significant portion of the falls in public ownership. In the near future, the County intends to establish a trailhead/parking area and begin work on plans to improve the existing, but primitive, trails. In the meantime, the County asks that visitors exercise caution when recreating on the property, for their own safety as well as to prevent damage to sensitive vegetation and landscapes. Also, until a trailhead area is developed, visitors can park along the north side of Siskiwit Falls Road. No parking is allowed on, or directly adjacent to, the bridge and extra care must be taken to avoid impeding the normal flow of traffic. It’s also worth noting that the land situated south of the road is privately owned and is not open to public use. Located about 1 mile east of downtown Cornucopia on the Siskiwit River.
