Polk County has many trails for both motorized and non-motorized enthusiasts.   There are  over 360 miles of groomed snowmobile trails ranging from remote trails to the Gandy Dancer Trail. These trails offer breathtaking winter vistas as they pass through the forest and farms of Polk County. 

ATV and UTV trails include the Cattail Trail, Sterling ATV Trail and Swamill Trail they require registration and trail pass.

Trade River Equestrian Trail System is 40 miles in Governor Knowles State Forest does require a state trail pass.

Hiking and biking trails include the Gandy Dancer and Stower Seven Lakes State Trails which both require a state trail bike pass. Hikers can enjoy the National Scenic Ice Age Trail the western terminus begins in the Wisconsin Interstate State Park. There are also many hiking trail throughout the many park and towns in Polk County.
