Governor Thompson State Park, situated on Caldron Falls Flowage, encompasses over 2,800 acres of scenic woodlands and features 6 miles of shoreline. The park offers a variety of recreational activities for visitors, including hiking, fishing, and non-motorized boating on Woods Lake, which boasts a 150-foot sandy beach, picnic areas, and a campground with 100 sites. 

The park includes 16 miles of hiking trails that showcase stunning rock formations, and during winter, visitors can enjoy cross-country skiing and ice fishing. Adjacent to the Peshtigo River, a well-known location for fly fishing and canoeing, this park provides a peaceful retreat for outdoor enthusiasts all year round.
