We are one of three Greenbelt Communities in the U.S. built in 1938 during the Roosevelt Administration. Come and see our Original backward houses and our Historical National Landmark buildings that are part of our Living Museum. Take a walk through history as you move through the welcome center. Eye-catching wall displays will educate visitors on the early creation of Greendale, the progression through the years, and Greendale Today. There is a seating area and television that will feature the area's attractions, natural beauty, and history for your pleasure.

The Village of Greendale is the quaint destination in Wisconsin that you have been searching for. This historic planned garden community has charming shops, great dining options, holds year-round events for the whole family to enjoy, and is surrounded by parks and green space. Enjoy a walk along our wooded paths that run right through residential neighborhoods, walk along bridges over Dale Creek and also view our Chimney Art as well as Eleanor's Fountain. In the summer we have over 30,000 flowers blooming along Broad Street. Come see all that this community has to offer!
