Black Point Estate & Gardens
Black Point, one of the oldest mansions on Geneva Lake, was built in 1888 as a summer home for its owner, Conrad Seipp, and his large family. The stately home includes 13 bedrooms and a four-story tower that can be seen from many points on the lake. What began in 1887 as a $20,000, 13-bedroom home now stands as one of the finest examples of Queen Anne design remaining as a lakeshore estate in the Lake Geneva area. Since 2007 Black Point has been open to the public with guests of the estate arriving by boat, just as the estate's original owners did when the home was built. Departures from the Riviera Docks in Lake Geneva provided by Lake Geneva Cruise Line offer a guided tour of the lake and its history before arriving at the magnificent estate. Visitors will find that virtually all of the furnishings in Black Point remain intact as they were when the Seipp family and its descendants lived in the home. Docents guide guests through the first two floors of the home as well as the gardens. A narrated boat tour back to the city of Lake Geneva completes this step-back-in-time experience.
